Counseling Office

Welcome to Basha High School's Counseling Department!

Counselors are assigned based on the student's last name and will remain with the student all four years. To schedule an appointment, please contact the Counseling Assistant. Appointment hours are between 7 AM and 3 PM. Students may schedule appointments before school, after school, and during their lunch if missing a class is not in their best interest. Students may walk in without an appointment before school, after school, and during their lunch. Walk-ins are based on counselor availability.

Quarter 4 is here! Registration is now complete. Students may take a sneak peek at next year's schedule in May but the schedules are not finalized until Bear Down Days in early July... schedules are never guaranteed so please BEAR that in mind!

Important Information

Credit Checks

Senior Final Credit Checks were through in-person English Jan 7th and 8th. All seniors without an in-person English should see their counselor ASAP for graduation clearance.
Junior Credit Checks were through in-person US History Jan 21st and 22nd--all juniors without an in-person US History should see their counselor Jan 23rd
Sophomore Credit Checks were through in-person English Jan 29th and 30th--all sophomores without an in-person English should see their counselor Feb 1st
Freshman Credit Checks were through in-person World History Feb 4th and 5th--all freshmen without an in-person World History should see their counselor Feb 6th (Freshmen already received their registration presentation back in November.)
AMS Credit Checks were on Feb 8th.

Student Grade Information

Your student's grades are posted in Infinite Campus. Please encourage your student to complete any missing work the teacher may still accept prior to grades being posted. Please contact the individual teacher with questions and concerns.

Parents, even though your student is growing and looking older, we ask that you monitor the weekly grades and email teachers with any concerns.
Ask your student if they turned in the assignment late or took a test late and then follow up with the teacher to inquire when the late work will be graded.
Please understand that teachers budget their time, so late work may take a backseat while they are keeping up with their own timelines.
We ask you to monitor grades weekly until the day they graduate. This is the best way to launch them on to a successful path after high school.
Email teachers directly with any concerns or questions; the counselor can only see the same grade report you see. If a student fails a class, it is expected the parent and student will confer with the counselor to set up summer school the following summer.
While summer school is online for the most part, the finals are in person, so families must adjust any summer travel to the summer timeline. Counselors will have summer information in late January.

Google Classrooms

Students who are brand new to BHS and do not see an invitation to their Counselor's Google Classroom should email their counselor at the counselor's cusd80 email... lastname.firstname@cusd80.com email to request to be added.

Look at the Counselor Google Classroom every week so they know what their counselor is doing with the students!!!

Information for resetting passwords was sent through Parent Square. Infinite Campus password must be reset before you are able to access gmail, etc.

Below are the instructions. Please read in its entirety.

7th-12th (and 6th grade at AJHS, ACPMS, and Basha Middle School)

Pattern: Birthdate (MMDDYY format) first initial (lowercase) + last initial (lowercase)

Example: sophomore Ani Smith whose birthday is October 3, 2007 will have their password reset to 100307as

7-12 students will be forced to change their password after it is reset

Students can change their Microsoft password by either:

logging on to a CUSD Windows device with their reset password, or
logging in to the Microsoft portal (myaccount.microsoft.com) with their reset password on any device at school or at home.
- Username for Microsoft is s+id@s.cusd80.com - example s123456@s.cusd80.com

All 2nd-12th grade students must change their Microsoft default password before accessing Infinite Campus.

Club Fair Days

August 20th and 21st, on the campus were during all 3 lunches! We encourage at least two clubs per year. Visit our Activities website.

NOTICE: Any classes taken at a charter or online school that is not within the CUSD school system must have prior approval from the counselor and a contract signed. CUSD does not accept core classes from non-accredited and non-in-person exam schools, so please work with a counselor prior to registering students.

Summer School for 2026

In person will be for students that failed a class during this school year only. This will be at Chandler High School. Once a request is made to the student's counselor for the in-person summer school via email--please list the class and semester plus the email address the parent wishes to use to manage this request in the email--then the parent goes to Qualtrics using the script they will receive once the counselor has requested the class--to complete the registration. A $200 for one semester and a $400 for full year charge will be assessed at the time of Qualtrics registration, but the fee will be waived if the student passes said class(es).

All COA summer school will now cost $200 per semester requested. (Comprehensive health is at no cost.) All requests go to the student's counselor--please list the student's name, the class and semester requested along with the email the parent wishes to be contacted at--from here the parent will receive an email within the hour from CUSD80 No Reply (if you previously blocked this you will need to unblock to receive) with a script of how to complete the registration and make payment. Please understand that the payment being received is the reservation in the class; once a class fills all unpaid requests will be canceled.

Session 1: May 26-June 12, 2026--students must be present July 2 for the in person final

Session 2: June 15-July 2, 2026 --students must be present July 2 for the in person final

(Once the student is registered the parent must complete the registration by paying to reserve their spot before the session fills.)

Final step after summer success

Probably most important will be for the student to email the counselor of their summer success and at that time request any schedule or transcript adjustments. When a student retakes a class, the transcript is not auto adjusted and therefore a student must tell the counselor to request such action through the proper person.

Math courses shall consist of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II (or its equivalent) and an additional course with significant math content as determined by district governing boards or charter schools.

AZ Public University Admission Criteria

4 English credits
4 Math credits (Math 4 must be higher than Algebra 2)
3 Lab Science credits
2 required Social Studies credits (1 credit must be American Arizona History)
1 Fine Art credit or 1 CTE credit (AZ criteria only, other public universities may require Fine Art exclusively)
2 Foreign Language credits (AZ criteria only, other public and private universities may request 3 Foreign Language credits)
